Olympus camera picture download assistance please

My wife's Olympus C-310 digital compact camera has died the death so we cannot download pictures via USB cable and the XD 16MB picture card does not fit into my laptop.

Can any of the experts out there help me to download our pictures ?

i think you can do it if you get a multi card reader roy it reads xd&sd cards&plugs in via your usb.i use on in the uk so i would imagine you can get them over here,they are a small gadget about 4"x3"&about 1/2" thick.how are you keeping roy?

Thanks for the helpful suggestions received - problem now solved by local technician with a multicard who is downloading to a memory stick.
