A22 tolls

Just wondered how the toll system is going lately? Can anyone give me advice on best ways of paying etc.? I plan on driving to Spain on my next visit and would much prefer to use the motorway. Last time i took the 125 and it was a bit of a nightmare journey and added an hour to the journey.

Buy the chip. Much easier! They charge your credit card directly. No worries.
Not sure if you can make a previous deposit for a specific plate.
