Re: False MOT certificates

Post by Inês Editor Resident »

In response to EMM’s and Polli62’s posts on January 1 – people are getting MOGS and MOTs confused as far as the Algarve Resident is concerned and I therefore need to put the record straight. We did carry ads for MOGS, which we had no reason to believe was anything other than a legitimate business. But we did not carry ads for MOT certificates. I hope that clarifies matters. For the facts, see our story in this week’s Resident.

In life there is such a thing as choice its always up to the individual, what i find annoying is all the judge and jurys on this website.
People who live in glasshouses shouldnt throw stones.

If there was no risk to the safety and welfare of other road users and members of the public from those who have broken to law by purchasing these fraudulent MOT's then "some " could view it as just a way of getting around local rules and regs.
Howvever seeing the state of some UK reg cars around the Algarve and in Carvoeiro ( many untaxed ) it is pretty safe to assume that these vehicles are far from SAFE and as such the owners deserve any sanctions criminal or otherwise that may eventually result.

Its has got nothing to do with " glasshouses and stones " its about an individuals responsibilty to others in the society they live in.

Anyone who thinks otherwise should hope that they or their loved ones are not unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident with one of these vehicles.
