Losing stations?
Is anybody else losing BBC1 & 2,Sky Sports News some film channels etc?
Re: Losing stations?
Only when it is raining hard here. We have a 1.6 m Dish as well. Normally it is ITV which goes off first, with Channel 5 the last to go. Try a different BBC channel, i.e South, Midlands etc..
Re: Losing stations?
This was the subject of an earlier topic. Search for Sky/Satellite TV. There is a lot of interesting satellite information here.
I, too, have a 1.8 m dish and also suffer from lost ITV and BBC signals usually around late afternoon/ early evening. It generally comes back after a short time, but in the meantime I tune to one of the other regional BBC/ITV station (around channel number 970+).
When you set up your sky service, you are generally tuned in to a local transmitter and thus receive regional BBC/ITV services. (Granada in the North west for instance). The strength of these local transmission signals varies and hence some times services are lost. (The London area is one of the worst, I believe).
It shouldn't be a big issue given that you can always tune to another service.
Good luck.
