Selling Property

Hi,

I’m in the process of looking for a good estate agent in Lagos to sell my apartment. I’m led to believe that compared to the UK in Portugal you can sell your properly through more than one estate agent. Is there any advantage or disadvantages of either approach?

In Portugal the standard sales com is 5%, the only reason to give exclusivity would be lower this a little, but then if you give exclusivity to agent and they don't sell it, it really doesn't matter that they are receive 3-4% of nothing. I would suggest you appoint a few agents and when they have a client that makes an offer that is lower than you expected, then negotiate with whichever agent presents the client to accept an offer based on them receive a lower com.
