WATCH YOUR PURSE

Post by joanne »

Charlotte my 18 year old had her purse stolen last week when we out in the Village, she reported it to the Police and they just shrugged their shoulders...........They have our address over there and said if it turns up they will call, anyway back home and we have had a letter from the Police down South saying her 2 credit cards, driving Licence and a gift card had been handed in, they could not post them to us even if we pay the cost, so they have all had to be destroyed to be fair we had cancelled them all except the gift card.

The Police told Charl that an English coupl had found them dumped on the side of the Road, the Purse and all the Euros had gone, the purse was a giftand it was very expensive and all her Pics etc were in it, so word of advice just take a small puse out with a minimum in it, it has really upset her as she thinks she is safe over there at all times, so be careful.

Thanks to the couple who did hand in the things in england if you are reading this.

So that I understand you - the 'English' people found the purse in Carvoeiro - took it back to England and then sent it to your daughter - is that right?

It sounds like the english couple bought it back to the Uk and gave it to their local police - why did they bring it all the way back to the Uk and then not post it to her?

Sam

We are on the same wavelength - but why didn't they hand it in to the GNR?

My school-of-thought would be - did they 'pinch-it' and then had a pang of conscience - after spending the money - then realising it was a quality purse with pictures that might mean something to the owner - thought about returning it.

Apologies - if you are the person(s) who returned it having genuinely genuinely found it - but my past involvement with the forces of law and order has bred a degree of cynicism - that suggests a degree of skullduggery here :)

Ok, Charlotte lost the purse, reported it to the local police, they just shrugged shoulders, asked for our address in Portugal and then said they would post it through to her if it was handed in.

Week after we get home she got a letter from the Police, she phoned them up and all that had been handed in was 2 credit cards, and her driving licence, the couple had found them in the street in the Village, so had brought them home to England and handed them in, the Police said they could not post on to us we had to collect them or they would be destroyed, so they were destroyed, the Purse, photos etc never been handed in, we back on Sunday, but sure no one will hand the purse in.
