Bottled Gas
Bottled Gas
We have just replaced our 45kg gas bottle from BP and were astounded that they now cost 89.40 euros each. Last May the price was 72.50 each. In November it had risen to 78 and since January it has increased almost 2 euros every month.
Does anyone know if the prices vary by supplier or are they set by some regulatory body.

Re: Bottled Gas
Energy prices are spiralling upwards - just look at the price of petrol/diesel. It is suggested that increases will continue for some time to come as the cost is linked to the costs of those commodities. The strength of the US$ is also a major component in the pricing mechanism and it's getting stronger.
Compare the cost of a litre of petrol/diesel last May and I believe you will find the increase corresponds to the % increase in your butane gas

Re: Bottled Gas
In my experience the price of bottled gas is pretty much standard across all outlets. It just gets more expensive in kine with other energy costs.

for "kine" please read "line"

Last we paid for a 45kg bottle of Propano was 64.90 euros (don't no whether butano is dearer). We always have two bottles on so we don't run out. Not sure whether its increased in price as our last order was in Oct 2009 & not being down for the winter this time we havn't used a great deal.We found the company we deal with to be the cheapest by far, having shopped around for many prices. They are based in Paderne but deliver all over the Algarve.
