ANOTHER CAR HIRE THREAD

For years we've used AUTO-EUROPE and been delighted with prices and quality (they broker out your request to the likes of AVIS, GUERIN etc).

But this time I tried TRAVEL SUPERMARKET.COM, and it came up with ARGOSY CAR HIRE....

I then clicked on the ARGOSY link and it said it had found the cheapest deal with AIRAUTO... I suspect it's one of those bods in the arrival hall with a "company flaG"

Anyone used them?

Any feedback?

Will happily post some feedback myself after our trip, so you can see price and what I thought of the service.

I use Airauto and have done for the past five years, visiting CVO 3 times a year. I am very satisfied with them and find they are among the cheapest.

As promised, a bit of feedback on AIRAUTO, based at Faro airport.

1. Where are they based?
Ignore the bods in the arrivals hall - go straight out to car park 4, where there is a new little car rental office, with a discrete logos for AIRAUTO and one or 2 others

2. How speedy was the service?
Quite slow, but only because the desk clerks were obviously VERY thorough, talking us through everything, writing down the number to call instread of 999 in the event of an accident etc. So as there were about 4 people ahead of us, we were on our way in about 45 mins.

3. How was the price?
Exceptional! I've just spent half an hour trying to find the exact quote, and can't track it down. But for a 4 door Punto for 6 days at easter it was about £80 I think. Certainly the cheapest I've ever paid and we've shopped around!

4. Did you book direct?
No, we did a screen trawl vis travelsupermarket.com. They came up with ARGOSY car hire, and in turn they booked it via AIRAUTO. Be interesting to see how the prices work out if booked direct.

5. Would you use them again?
Every time! Very friendly & helpful and brilliant price. Only down side is wheeling a teetering baggage trolley over to car park 4, and the bit of queueing, but still GREAT.

Overall, 9 out of 10, highly recomended.

having started one of the longer Car Hire threads a while back (which resulted in Lesley Jean being refunded!), I am reporting back on the experience I had a few weeks ago.

I booked through www.economycarrentals.com - good prices, fully comp (through ECR and not through the car hire company).

The company they booked for me was Airautos.

I had completed my driver details prior to arrival, so went to the P4 desk, and was driving out of the airport within 10 minutes - a record for me!!!

Was upgraded and given a brand new car with 30km on the clock. Downside was that the tank was empty so had to fill it up before I left, but still arrived at the apartment well ahead of schedule.

Return was easy - no queue for returns, despite now being in the middle of the holiday period, took less than 10 minutes. And the plus point was that I was also closer to departures than when I was using Sixt.

So have rebooked for July and August - highly recommended.

We have used Airauto for several years - no problems. Always helpful and courteous. Only problem is the queue on arrival.
