We were talking to his assistant in Blue Rock on friday, John has gone back to the UK but not for good,
He has shutdown the takeaway ( staff issues ) and it is not known if this will reopen.
Apparently John became unhappy with the way the takeaway was being run!!!!.
Maybe there is a business oportunity here for someone to take on the management.
Blue Rock is as good as ever and business appears to be thriving.
( two lamb shanks for sunday lunch )

Ihad a takeaway when we were last over in CVO from his establishment. I was served by a nice lady Brit who had made the curry in which I had. The portion was average in size, lacking in meat and was extremely mild in flavour. It seemed to be of a jar variety of sauce and the rice was adequate. I was not over impressed and decided not to return.
For takeaways I much prefer the lovely food from the other place on the othr side of the road further up. They run out fast but the food and price is very reasonable. Dont ask me the name cos I have forgotten.
The butchery shop is well proportioned and extremely well laid out and the produce seems rather good, however I find I prefer to buy my meat from the CVO market or other markets we visit in other villages. towns. Cheaper and just as good quality

We use the market for veg and fish , its not as good value as some of the markets, lagoa or silves as it caters for the tourist/expat trade.
Have not tried the butcher yet, ( you know its aimed at tourists etc as his chickens have the heads, feet and insides removed ) unlike many pure portuguese establishments.
