Foam Bed Matresses

We were told in our last visit that the use of foam type matresses (tempur, relyon, reaxsan etc) is NOT recommended as they cause sweating.

Anyone any experience of these - I want to bring an orthopaedic foam matress over as I suffer from a bad back
