Economic situation

Post by shanagarry »

For those of us with a sensitive disposition I suppose it is reassuring to have the moderators take out adverse comments made by contributors to this forum. At just before midnight last night (Christmas Day) a contributor referred to me as an 'idiot', having pasted my previous mail ahead of their single word comment. When I woke this morning the post, sadly, had been taken down and while I can understand why - it would have been enlightening to get another 'intelligent' perspective - if the contributor was capable of doing so.

Given the nature of the topic it is inevitable that it will provoke some fairly contentious opinions. That being said - I suspect had the contributor offered a degree of intelligent debate we might have had an opportunity to do just that - debate it intelligently.

I am responding to his/her accusation for no other reason than to be proved wrong -I would like nothing better than to be justifiably called that 'idiot' if, in the years ahead all the predicted 'doom and gloom' does not come to pass. The realists will be shaking their heads and wringing their hands - but you never know.......

Anyway, we will be on the early flight to Faro in the morning and looking forward to bringing in the New Year in the comfortable ambiance of Julio's on Wednesday next and in the company of many like minded friends - doom and gloom not permitted.
