Can anyone suggest where I can get a metal ash can - emptying the ash from my wood burner is proving difficult!!

IZI in Lagoa should have the utensils for a log burner.

Thank you Gambrinus - I looked there last year, but did not find a suitable container for hot ashes. Any other thoughts

I couldn't find one either just the plastic or rubber buckets the builders use, but I was in Leroy Merlin the other day & saw metal buckets in there.

good questio, J - I still have a stash from last year, so I am not in the market for any atm.

TCS, what about the place before Alcantarilha that sells BBQ grills.
Alternatively, on the way there, between Porches and Aqualand there is a fireplace specialist shop on the left - they must have them.

Well, I tried Leroy Merlin - no metal buckets

I tried the fire shop on the way to Alcanterilha - no luck

Any other suggestions

I am using and old paint tin at the moment.

TCSltd did you go through to the outside garden bit on the far left of the shop? They had all the fire paraphernalia tongs, brushes, shovels &, when we were there about 4 weeks ago, metal buckets.

We use a cheap aluminium roasting tin, a small metal shovel from ISSYS which we cool outside prior to putting in bag.

Go to the paint shop in Lagoa the one opposite the Fatacil and ask for an empty used paint tin, equivalent to a five gallon container in the Uk

You can buy a metal bucket at a stall in the gypsy markets. The stall sells all types of gardening tools and hardware, among which, metal bucket. Next nearest market is a week Sunday in Lagoa. Otherwise there should be a list of markets in the local English papers.
