Buying at Golfemar

Post by Sasha08 »

Hi everyone,

Just new to this forum. We are currently seriously considering purchasing in Golfemar- does anyone have any positive/negative feedback about the complex and owning there? Or anything we should be aware of before buying?
Also has anyone had experience of buying with VDM or Vernons? Again, positive and negative feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance :D

Depends which Golfemar you mean - Clube or Vila? They are very different. We have a property on Vila Golfemar which we bought through VDM just over 2 years ago and we are very happy with it. Monica is very good, as is the VDM proprietor, Keith Simms. He seems very straightforward.

We just completed on a property in Club Golfemar in January, spent 2 weeks there over Easter and had a wonderful time.Keith and the girls at VDM are more than helpful and we cant wait to go back. The place was quiet when we were there but that was lovely,we dont plan to come in the high season.

We nearly bought there a couple of years ago, but stayed for a week to see what it was like.
The townhouse was really nice, but the pool was really busy and nobody was about to clean up, the Restaurant was closed and non of the shops were open...
Maybe it has all been done now we ended up buying in the Village, try and stay there for a week before you commit we are really glad we did.

The shops and restaurant were closed in March, and have been for the past 6 years. When we considered buying there 6 years ago we were assured that all facilities would be open the next summer. It would appear that nobody wants to take on a new restaurant and shops in this complex.

Our friends live there and they told us that restaurant was having some work done to it and looks like it might be opening soon.

We considered buying property on Golfemar last year. The thing that put us off was the distance it was from the town, we felt we would always need to have a hire car or taxis. We decided to buy in the centre of Carvoeiro instead and bought through Vernon, who we found very good.
