My mistake it turns out that it is split our representative splits it in half and sends a bill to both of us. The rates are nearly as expensive as England though. I suppose its the same anywhere now.

Bradybunch - certainly the municipal tax is much more meaningful than it used to be especilally in respect of new properties valued under the new tax system. It used to be totally out of touch and I guess we do have to pay for the local government infrastructure improvements we have seen in recent years. Of course older properties are in general still very cheaply taxed.
