Price of Electricity
Price of Electricity
Does anyone know the average cost per unit of electricity and what is the average cost per month for a 4 bedroom villa(occupied maybe 6 months per year mostly in summer).

Just had a look at our last 'catch up' bill from July last year. We have a 3 bed villa with A/C and pool heating and we used 9,683 units over the year 06/07. This gave us a bill for 2,336.52E over the year - no idea whether there are different charge bands as the bill doesn't mention that but a simple average would give 0.24E per unit? We pay 200E/month by direct debit.

We also have a 4 bed villa that is occupied about 25 weeks a year mainly in the summer season, but without air-con, pool heating or any significant heating during the winter. We pay a standing order of 87E per month and used about 5795 units (from May 06-May07) which gives 0.185 E per unit (wonder why it is so different from your cost per unit Alison?) . This obviously shows the cost of air con and pool heating when compared to widge and Alison above, but should help aussie with his/her calculations.
i have been told by a friend of mine that you can run your electricity meter on 2 tariffs that run at night which are similar to the economy 7 tarrif in the uk.
