http://www.edp.pt/EDPI/Internet/PT/Grou ... d_20.7.htm

You need to go to the Portuguese language side of their web site. Clientes >Tarifario. There is a monthly standing charge which varies according to your Potencia Contratado. €20.61 if your potencia is 13.8KW for example (ie you can run appliances up to that amount at the same time before your system trips) Then add 11.43 cents per unit. IVA is payable + you will see a couple of euros on your bill for TV. The Portuguese equvalent of your TV licence

Meter readings are in the Comunicar Leituras section in portuguese. You need to register first. You can also telephone them on their automated system Number at the top of the bill.

On the same web site there is a Simulador. Click on individual rooms from a drop down list, add the appliances for each room and it will calculate a typical usage. Tarif Simples is best for most people unless you want to set appliances too run overnight and use Bi Hora

Air co probably uses between 1.5 and 2.5KW depending on size

EDP Lisbon Head Office is 210 012 500, they may not accept meter readings but may be able to re direct you. Nowadays meters are read and bills modified once a year with next years direct debit adjusted accordingly
