can anyone tell me if Chicken George is still open, just outside carvoeiro,
ont he road to Benagil I think ?

We haven't eaten there, but the signpost was still there at the end of May this year.

Just back from another wonderful holiday in Carvoeiro and visited Chicken George for the first time. Basic restaurant but food tasty, unfortunately I came down with severe diarrhoea and spent several days recovering with the aid of the local chemists!

No one else in our party was ill so I may have just been unlucky.

Would you recommend it to someone who has never been before? What kind of food do they sell and are they expensive?

It's very basic but can be a great atmosphere - he only sells bbq chicken or fish with salad and chips.

Very reasonable prices and you can get take aways too.

It is still open.

I am a bit more picky and prefer my chicken non-charcoaled and with a decent marinade.
Try Galo de Ouro take-away at the entrance to Carvoeiro, he makes all sorts of grilled goodies to take home and the prices are very affordable.
