public transport

Arriving in Carvoeiro on 4 March for a week. My husband and I do not drive. Please advise if there will be buses/ferries and the land train running at this time.

Hi Julie,

I don't know where you are staying in Carvoeiro but I think the easiest way to get there from the airport is to arrange a taxi beforehand - probably cost around 45 euros if you book in advance, or nearer 50 + if you take one of the airport ones. Two numbers to try : Jose on 965 091 239 or Patricio on 919 193 530.

Public transport would require at least 2 changes and probably a lot of hanging around in between !

Sorry if not clear.Ok getting to Carvoeiro as transfer comes with the package. I wanted to know about available public transport around the area of Carvoeiro.

Hi Julie,
There, are buses but sparse.
As to there actual timetables/pick up points, I have no knowledge (ie not my area).
Most hotels and large complexes have a free complimentory coach service.
Most properties actually in Carvoerio more or less are in walking distance, otherwise if just local a taxi is cheap.
If I can find out anymore information for you I will post asap.
However, there is a very good Tourist Office by the main beach and hopefully, on your arrival will be able to supply you with more information.

I have found the following timetable for the buses in our FAQ from Lagoa to Carvoeiro, now whether the stops along the way are suitable to where your staying I am not sure. If I can be of any further help please post, or have another good browse through the FAQ Section. The problem is I have to confess most of us who live here drive and guests normally hire cars. But then on saying that we have many who like bike or walking hols...I suppose each to their own..
