the president and his albufeira pad

a number of years ago walking down the strip in albufeira I was a little taken aback to see two police standing outside a fairly smallish villa armed with machine guns, anyway after asking it seems that this is the holiday home of soon to be and once again our very own local algarve boy-- presidente silva.

now if I was president of Portugal, I am not sure that I would select opposite all the "crem del la crem" of albuferira "ENGERLAND ENGERLAND" burgers rest, chippies and curries and bars with sky sports to have my holiday home,
surely there must be nicer places to go?

but I suppose he can always get a takeaway outside his door

looking for some background info on the presidential race I looked up the portugal breaking news service - they supplied this link which I found very informative and helpful in making my mind up, as to who should be our next leader.
