New Subject
Having drifted so far from the original subjects in previous forums I thought I would start a new one, anything goes!!. Many thanks for the welcome yesterday. Have to confess to eavesdropping on your conversations for quite a while but being the shy retiring type (a virgo) I have not been brave enough to join in. Today has been one of those days from hell so I need something to lighten the mood. I came back from CVO 2 weeks ago and wont be back again until September
God help you, with this heading, you know what some of us are like when there is a specific topic we are supposed to be responding to
I am glad that you still decided to take the plunge and join even after you had been "eavesdropping" for a while, and that the worst of our excesses did not put you off. I have to say, from a personal point of view, that we always need new blood
And we are not that bad really and we do all love CVO, do you have a place out there or are you a more casual visitor? Whereabouts do you tend to stay? What beaches do you like? Restaurants? Bars?
I will, of course, be accused of being nosy, but they won't be able to say they weren't interested in your responses
Looking forward to engaging with you. Mads

Being going to CVO for a few years now. Stay at Villa Laranja Du Sol, you may or may not know of its reputation
Sullys, Smilers, Mikes Bar amongst others and of course Jailhouse (last port of call before crawling up the hill to home) I'm a pool person by day but the beach is best at night. Last September was unfortunate to catch a 'bad weather' week and the beach when angry was quite spectacular, White Horses

If I remember rightly the 'friends' over the past few weeks have been
too 'shy' to reveal their true names or too cowardly...
In answer to your other questions (love a good gossip myself)
I've not really found a Restaurant in CVO that I didn't like apart from
Chef Antonio's, that whilst the food was good, waiting over one and half hours for the main course with three children (they were small then)
was not acceptable, even in laid-back Portugal. My favourite beach
never can remember the name - is the one on the way to Ferragudo
with the really good bar/restaurant with the permanently burning BBQ.
and you can't really see the highrise blocks on the opposite coast.

I love people watching and making wickedly unprofessional assessments based on things like the shoes they are wearing
.
The other thing I admit to doing is eavesdropping when sitting in restaurants and telling my family to shut up because I think I am about to miss something crucial - I am not proud of it but I do it just the same
