Does anybody have any experience of this company? They have a very aggressive advertising style guaranteeing to beat any other car rental company on the Algarve on price and match on quality. I checked their low season rental rate and it appears to be 33% cheaper than other local operators.

I have been searching the web for yonks looking for car hire and this is totally new to me.

Took a look at the web site - not too impressed. I'd like to hear from a real customer before I start giving them my credit card details and booking a vehicle for Easter.

I'll keep looking in on this topic to see any info members might have.

Agree with Michael. Just took a quick look at their website and it doesn't seem to give you any contact details, except an e-mail address, unless I missed it. They don't seem to be a UK registered company but once again I only had a very quick look on the companies house database, as got to go out soon.

I think you would be wise to do a bit more research there Widge.

I have booked through Algarve driver quite a few times and have never been let down.

First of all can Michael tell me if he is referring to YOR Car Hire or someone else that he had a disappointing encounter with?

Secondly, I would recommend that car renters also find out what the rental companies will do should their car mechanically shut down while you are driving outside of Portugal. I have been told by some car rental companies that it is my responsibility to get their car back over the Portuguese border. One of their reasons for this is that their trucks are not allowed into Spain to pick up their car. Interesting! I guess the EU hasn't looked at this cross border situation yet?

I have been using Luzcars for the past 5 years and have never had any problems.

Book over the internet, pay by cash or credit card at Faro Airport.

Return the car to car park 4 at the Airport when you leave. Leave the car locked with the key under the wheel arch and just walk away.

Never had any arguments over the amount of petrol left in the tank which I have had with a number of companies over the years. You are simply asked to return the car with approximately the same amount of petrol as you started with. What could be fairer than that, and no one checks which I have always found amazing.

Next time, I go to carpark 4, look for a car from Luzcars, take the key under the wheel arch, and just drive away
