Brussel Sprouts
Brussel Sprouts
Concern was expressed last night by several members regarding brussel sprouts, or the lack of them in the shops. Apparently the expat community has been buying them up in siege like quantities.
Word on the street this morning, from one of my reliable informants, is that there are 100's of them in Modelo in Portimão.
Roy...please pass that message on to your lovely wife. Thanks.

Hey Tbbr,
What's the difference between Shepards Pie and Cottage Pie?
Real question, not a joke!

Brussel Sprouts
So why are they not called Lamb Pie and Beef Pie?
Or would that be making life too simple!

Was watching news item and it said that the UK was now the largest producer of Brussel sprouts in Europe!..
and that here in Lincs we have the largest sprout growers in the country! But thats not such a big surprise as this is a large county and mostly given over to veg. growing.
As a kid, the only way my mum could get me to eat any greens including sprouts, was to spinkle them with vinegar and white pepper!
I now prefer them with lemon juice and black pepper and a knob of butter
Ive had them with chestnuts and crispy 'lardons' but prefer them 'straight'!

Well I hope the sprouts were enjoyed by all who managed to get their hands on them.
Nightrider, thanks for the choccies! I must say that I much prefer them to sprouts.
Groan, big fat belly from over eating.
By the way (sorry folks, going off topic but it's Christmas so I'm allowed to!), How's Bruxy after her pesky fall off her pesky broomstick?
