so I’m off to cvo
THANK GOD! The long summer holiday is almost at an end. Like most working mums, I’ve been at my wits’ end counting the days until it’s all over and I no longer have to take Charlie swimming, cycling, paintballing, Science Museum-ing (again – yawn!!), visiting his little friends or trailing round Blockbuster looking for the latest Playstation kids game (Pimp City: The Brothel Wars since you ask!).
And, as you may have guessed, I’ve had zero help from the useless you-know-who (Hub!), who has spent the whole holiday in front of the television watching Pro-Celebrity Sewer Diving with Jeremy Clarkson and A.A. Gill.
It’s been hell and I don’t know how I’ve coped – but now it’s only 17 hours and 47 minutes until the summer holiday is over – the nanny’s summer holiday, that is! And I tell you one thing – I’m never giving her three days off again. The sooner Rebeccah gets back from Gaza (“family crisis” supposedly!) and gets on with reading Charlie the new Harry Potter book and washing Simon’s underpants – or is it the other way round? Men! They’re all the same – the better for all concerned. I tell you, these last few days have been so exhausting that I need a holiday – so I’m off to cvo until term starts, for some serious sun, sea and shopping - if you recommend somewhere nice

Polly, I can sympathise completely!
As a working mum who has had the summer off to look after three children and only recently been allowed back to work
I can see how you feel. My suggestions for a pampering break in Carvoeiro, is: Visit Algarve Shopping Centre, stock up on portuguese lingerie, I have to tell you, their bra's are fantastic for uplift!,
after a full days shopping, arrange for Deb from www. headtotoe.com to visit your villa for a full body massage and facial, leaving you in tip top condition for an evening at L'Orange, Elle and Elas, or some other suitable up market restaurant . It will be hard Polly, but you owe it to us working mothers to take it easy
Have a great time
