Hello there,
Could anyone please tell me what sort of weather the end of October normally brings?
I am hoping to come over for the October half term around the 23rd, what time does it get dark etc., and would it be worth having a heated pool?
Could someone please advise me?

Hi Annie,
We've been several times during Oct half term and always had good weather. One year it was gloriously hot with clear skies the whole week! Ususally you would expect sun and some cloud.
Of course - Oct can have changeable weather like any other out of season month, but as the Portuguese weather has done some very strange things over the last few months - who knows?!
Heated pool is always good out of high season, but my husband and children (when they were younger) would brave any temperature! Me - I'm far more mature!!
Unfortunately this year, we are not going to Carvoeiro for the Oct half term. For all sorts of boring reasons, we're going with about 30 others to Crete!! We normally go to Portugal and I know where I'd rather be! I'll let you know about Crete in November when we're back! Can't say I'm looking forward to the longer air travel either!
Whatever the weather you'll have a great time in Carvoeiro - guaranteed!

I have to admit that I a definitely not brave enough to try an unheated pool in October, coward that I am!!!!
