PLants for drought conditions

Have just seen part of " ground force " on TV where they were re creating an african garden using aloes etc.

In our own garden ( if the camara ever pas the paperwork ) we want to use a many plants a possible which will require very little water.

But as we do not want to injure our guests , particulary small ones., they must be " spine " free.

What suggestions do residents have, plants with colour would be welcome

bouganvilla (sorry cant spell it) yukas..cover as much area with black plastic and then mulch over with stones or pinebark...then stick your plants in...we have always found gereniums do well..we never water but every year they produce lots of flowers..just break a few sticks off and push in ground.

with the current water problems dont do anything untill the winter rains come (we hope :cry)

just a side issue but why on earth have your garden plans to be approved by camara??????''
