Hi Lesley

My 13 yr old son went to the diving school last year. He did a 3 (or maybe 4 )day course. They started off by doing a few hrs theory training session and then had to sit an exam before moving on to diving in the pool at the almansor and gradually building up to going out to the open water. The instructors were very friendly and helpful and safety conscious at all times. (I was a bit worried as he was so young but no probs for him)
Before starting the course we had to take him to a doctor(German Clinic in town) for a medical exam to check ear pressure etc .
He was only young boy in group but there were several other people there from complete beginners to experienced divers and they seemed to keep everyone in reasonably small groups for training.
Sorry can't remember costs but he did enjoy the experience so it was worth it
:)

regards
Carolyn

 Thank you Carolyn for you help, my youngest daughter is going to be out at our house for 4 weeks this summer, (she is 21yrs) she has a dissertation to write before Sept, but thought she would really like to try diving while she was there. This sounds just what she was looking for.

And thanks Jeremy for the link......how come it didn't come with a picture?? you seem to be brilliant at them now, I still can't get a pic on the site. Ellie has managed it now so I think I will have to have another go.

I don't know anything about the outfit but there is a diving school based on Quinta do Paraiso, just by the Reception and Pizza place if this is a better side of town for you than the Almansor. I'm sure the Quinta reception on 282 350 120 would have the details/phone number for you.

Too lazy to log in - Alison.

 Thanks Alison, I think the Almansor will probably be the best bet for us as our villa is out of cvo near Benagil. Thanks anyway for the help, phone numbers have been noted for future use!
