I have trawled around quite a lot in this area and dont see any real advantage anywhere over Vobis/Worten - you can get an idea of the Spanish market by looking at www.pccity.es (the Dixons Spanish outfit - the nearest store is Cadiz !) and make your own call but Cadiz seems a long way to go to perhaps save only a few Euros if any.
My own setup is a mix of UK and Portuguese bought kit (the UK stuff came out with us) and the locally bought stuff was no dearer than UK and some of it cheaper - I just looked for the special offers.

Have you thought about buying one from Dell by mail order. Their Notebook range for Portugal is limited to their Latitude range but you can customise it to what you need and their prices seem comparable in Portugal to the UK. In fact you could spec it out on the UK site and then go to the Portugal site to check before ordering.
I bought an Inspiron notebook from them about 3 years ago and have been pleased with both the product and aftersales service even though their call centre is in India.
Their web site is
http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/defau ... l=en&s=gen
and you can move between countries via the top left box.
Good luck

Thanks for the advice everyone, have checked out all the options.
I wouldn't want my Windows in Portuguese. Apparently they can change it - Vobis said it would cost me and extra €38 for this service. I would have thought there must be some way of doing it yourself but I have no idea how. No idea about the keyboard either - is a Portuguese one different?
