Simplicity Discount Card

Post by Guest... »

Can anyone tell me anything about the new Simplicity discount card which has been made available recently to tourists and residents?

It offers discounts on a variety of things, car hire, restaurants, golf etc

I have heard about these type of cards ..similar anyway. Turned out to be a bit of a scam ... maybe. Apparently the tourist/resident has to buy the discount card..without finding out what companies etc it is valid for...you guessed it..only obscure and not much use companies are on the card..waste of dosh!!

As the address is in CVO, could someone local investigate whether it is a scam or not and perhaps get more info as the website is "under construction"?

pm, you sly old dog! You and I are thinking alike . . . again!!!

I thought it was the same old, hey, have you tried this fab thingy - it's very good value trick to get us interested.

We might be wrong . . . in which case I'll edge my bets and apologise now.

I too will apologise if i am wrong..but it does sound fishy..and similar to a scam that I saw in majorca a wee while back.

Maybe I am just a jaded Algarve tourist!! Offered too many scratch cards that seem to always win camcorders and holidays in albufiera..if I come to 'special presentation' that is!!! Who says timeshare is dead!!

As far as I know on this subject, no one has to pay anything up front. There is a directory coming out soon and you can see who is in it before you buy the card. Also any businesses who have signed up don't have to pay anything up front either. I am going to get hold of a directory and see who is in it. I may post back............

Call my cynical, but wouldn't it sound just a tad more kosher if the endorsements were to come from a Member . . . and preferably one actually living locally?

Cards aren't on sale until there are a good range and number of businesses involved, which will be from the end of the month. The website, will be running from mon 23rd. Enquiries can be made about what businesses are already involved and how Simplicity operates by:
