Post by Jaylay »

Does anyone know more about the golf course that is under construction between Lagoa and Silves?

Thanks for your nice reply  I have lived here nearly 20 years and know all about water shortages and forest fires, just remember most people who live here do not have the luxury of drinking pool water.
The reason I wanted to know about the golf course is about the proximity of a friends property and the possible effect on its value as they are thinking of selling and it may be worth their while too hold on a bit longer.
For your information I do not play golf and would rather see the Algarve without these water hungry items and people like yourself who are intolerant of people questions. :x

All I can say is that we should be thankful that eco/spider whatever he/she/it is, doesn't actually live out here. I'd rather have the golf courses
Why you have to go off on one every time someone mentions something that you disagree with slightly I don't know, especially as it doesn't have anything to do with you. Is there any point in you posting?

I don't know much about the golf courses myself, as I'm not a golfer either and think there's enough of there here already. There are one or two golfers on the forum I think though who may be able to help :?:

Eco - why do you always have to be so confrontational in your manner - you may have a good point now and again, and some people may want to agree with you, but your continual abuse of things/people that you disagree with does your cause no good at all.

Why don't you give us a little bit of background about this 'realworld' that you live in - ie where you live, your occupation etc so that maybe your passionately held views could be taken more seriously?

eco/spider may be away with the fairies living in dreamland, but his confrontational manner really makes me laugh……. just hope it doesn’t offend newcomers, innocent guests etc

Firstly let me confirm that I am a male(or I was when I last looked). I live in Silves and London, I am confrontational when I see the Portugese, who are a generous folk living in less than satisfactory conditions surounded by bloody golf courses covering acres of land full of little holes with people wearing silly trousers. Outside of these courses are people who try to scratch a living from a soil that is dry through lack of water, both animals and crops are in a desperate situation, none of this matters so long as it doesn't affect the round of golf. I wish those who holiday in these places tried to find out about the people who actually belong there. It's enough that they are lumbered with a government both national and local that is corrupt to the core, without having to deal with greedy land developers. If it is confrontational to be this way, or if it wrankles other cosey little lives TO BAD. If my spouting of offends the forum then I have no doubt that the topic will be locked up!!!. It would be nice if we had some real discussions on this site now and again. If I have touched a few nerves then I have acheived what I wanted. Please don't lose any balls. :x :x

Oh right, sorry I hadn't realised that Portugal was otherwise known as the 'real world'.
Please also explain to me my 2 roles.

Maybe we could also get back to the original posters, question.

Watch your balls! Seems ecotwat dosnt have any!!! OR BRAINS.
so why is is the golf courses fault that there has been no rain !!!!
All golf courses in the algarve produce there own water, some even use sea water with the salt removed!

Another touch of the old holier-than-thou from the Spider.
Of course there is a serious issue with water supply, caused not only by the golf courses but also by the demands caused by the huge influx of tourists/foreigners to the region. OF WHICH HE IS ONE!
Now why isn't he campaigning to return the area totally to the poor peasants who are scratching a living from the soil? Is he prepared to sell up and move out? It's all very well having ideals, but you really can not be selective. Ban guys in funny trousers, but leave me alone - what makes you think you are better than them?
And it's also impossible to have a reasoned debate with you because of your never ending confrontational, abusive tone. You really are not doing either yourself or your cause any good. But stick with it if all you want to do is swap insults

I knew it, the subject always bringsd out the prats. If you lot wasn't as thick as the grass you play on you would realise that the PEASANTS,as you call them don't need to be surrounded by golf courses and patronising tossers, but by people who go there because they like the place, it always seems to me that all you lot do is take your habits to another country and perform like dummies in the sunshine. As for balls I never did ask what kept your ears apart. I always know when I touch a nerve when you lot appear from the bunkers. Yes brainy I know where rain comes from, what annoys me is where the water is used. If there is anybody who doubts me gender I would gladly have a chat with them over a glass of WATER!!
