Thanks - it's been a few days though, and not like him, so I'm not too hopeful.
As a ps to the last time, we had a call from Presa de Moura reception - they thought they had found Minnie so we went straight over only to find that it was a different black and white kitten. She was only 4 or 5 months old, very friendly and affectionate and almost Minnie's double - they couldn't keep her as they have a no pets policy, so guess what???
We have had her for about 4 weeks now and she has been spayed today - feeling a bit sorry for herself tonight but I'm sure she'll be fine.

Maybe your ginger cat is feeling a bit jealous of new arrival and has just gone off for more attention somewhere?.......does happen and hope cat comes back to you soon.
Not wanting to worry you but last week on UK news article was about 'cat napping' - quite a few have gone missing in our village too. It is big business again in Europe and they showed coats etc made from cat fur and alsation puppies.
If you could get your cats to stay in at night might be safer.
Good luck.

Unfortunately, as they were all strays originally, they don't like staying in at night.
Ginger was actually very friendly with the new arrival and played with her a lot so I don't think that's the problem. One of the others (we had 5, now 4) is more jealous and just makes her feelings known with a slap now and again!!
