Postcard from the Algarve to the UK in only . . . . 29 days

Post by guest too »

While we were down in CVO in early February, we sent a number of postcards to friends and family back in the UK. The cards were posted at the Lagoa post office on 6th February - the first of them arrived this morning – 29 days after it was posted!

I received a Christmas card two days ago from my sister in Australia. It was addressed correctly except after Portugal she put Spain! I did once tell her that a good way to wind up the Portuguese is to ask them – with a straight face – if Portugal belongs to Spain, and how they will explain – at length – how it doesn’t (haha).
But what was she thinking of? Winding them up at every opportunity?

I have never had any problems with the post from portugal... letters 2 days from B1D (when she finally gets to the correio  )
Letters from me to there though are always hideously delayed by the fact that I never write any.

xmas 2003 all the christmas presents went missing via parcel force. They were sent back to me on 1st March having sat in a warehouse in coventry for two months. They said that the address didn't exist - but as the parcel had never got to pt I'm not sure how they knew that...?
Most of the presents had been opened and 2 cds had been stolen. Happy bloody christmas useless parcelforce tossers. :x
