LOG IN OR LOG OUT ?

Can somebody help ?
Often a post is on screen as "guest" quickly followed by something like
'sorry that was me I forgot to log in.
I "logged in" when I first started posting and left it logged, is there any diadvantage or problem with that method. Does it encourage extra spam or 'owt. ? Does any one know ?

Like you, I stay logged on and have not noticed any problems or extra spam.

It certainly saves the hassle of logging in for each visit and for voting.

Same here...no problems either.......why would anyone log out?
