Carvoeiro at Easter

Post by Guest »

We are visiting Carvoeiro at Easter (arriving on evening of Thurs 24 March) and wondered whether food shops would be open over the Easter period as we are self catering? Would be grateful for any advice!

I dont think you will have a problem - as the supermarket/hypermarket culture has grown over recent years they dont like to let religious observance to get in the way of profit.

It will be the start of the season and "income" will matter above all else I think

Enjoy your holiday :)

Thank you for the prompt response! We intend to eat out alot but my mum gets panicky if she thinks she can't get to a food shop!

If you are hiring a car from the airport, InterMarche on the way into CVO is open until 9.00 pm except Sundays. They were even open on Carnival until lunchtime. We always pop in for essentials at the start of a visit. Enjoy your stay!

We've visited at Easter before and apart from a few chocolates on display no one would have known it was Easter though our neighbours from Lisbon had come down to stay in their apt. so Cvo. should be full of other Ptgse on holiday which is lovely. All the shops and supermarkets seemed to be open from what I remember and the only problems that usually occur is if cash machines run out of money if banks shut? Some one will correct me if I'm wrong?
