A nice venue

Hello everyone,

My first time on here, I was hoping one of you well informed people could advise me of any scenic/rustic places where one could hold a wedding party?

Unfortunately all the pictouresque looking places seem to be in the Alentejo region ( such as the old manor houses/castles) .

Does the Algarve posses anywhere suitable to hold a wedding venue for about 50 people??? ( We are based centrally near villamoura)

We have looked at the Sheraton near Albufeira which has nice views overlooking the cliff faces. However, I always find modern hotels a bit sterile.

Hi dipsy,
I highly recommend you go and take a look at the hotel almansor, carvoeiro. I got married there this year, on the cliffs with most amazing scenery. The hotel staff were great, food out of this world and all for a very good price. They even through in the honeymoon suite...

Can thoroughly recommend a place in the Algarve. We had our blessing there in September and it was fantastic.

Scouse- we had actually looked at that option and yes it does look very nice, however, again it would be in a hotel.

We had our engagement party at the Goutada restaurant situated at the Barragem (reservoir) d'Arade and he put on a super meal with home-made cakes etc. at a very reasonable price - about 30 mins. from CVO in a picturesque setting with aviary and other pets to keep kids amused.
Our other favourites are Jardim das Oliveiras on the road from Monchique to Foia - excellent food in a traditional garden setting with beautiful views en route and about an hour from CVO ------- and Recanto dos Mouros behind Silves castle serving traditional food, well patronised by locals and about 20 mins. from CVO.
I am sure one of these will suit your requirements and in any case you will have good fun and food whilst sussing them out !!!

As a venue, Restaurant O Simplicio looks like it could fit the bill. Dunno if they cater for such events or whether its appropriate for you, but well worth a visit to look. They advertise in FreeMap, so hopefully someone local could find a number.
