SANTANDER TO PLYMOUTH FERRY
Just to let people know that the Santander to Plymouth ferry sailing for Mon 16th from Santander is at risk. Last Tuesday the Pont Aven's engine room flooded with 1200 tonnes of water and remained blocking the only ferry port entrance in Plymouth. None of the other three daily services could get in or out so thousands of motorists were re-routed through Portsmouth-France losing a few days in travelling etc. The ferry is now in Brest, with marine engineers urgently trying to get it fixed. The sailing from Plymouth on Sunday is cancelled but it is hoped that the ship will be ready to sail directly down to Santander on Sunday ready to pick up pax/motorists for the Monday 1800 sailing to Plymouth. I've been told it's a 50/50 chance.
If anyone knows anyone travelling up that way at the end of their holiday to go home, please let them know. The phone no for enquiries is 00 44 8705360360.
Hope this message is not too late for some people. (PS The alternative Monday sailing from Bilbao to Portsmouth is full).
