I beleive the 'British School' in Lagoa is integrated (With Portuguese) .....my friends daughter speaks four languages and is rapidly learning Portuguese at this school....I might be wrong here but also when she returns to UK I think it might be beneficial to have followed the UK system to continue at a UK school..........but yes I accept your point and maybe more ..of us should send our kids to local schools...any other opinions would be int interesting...comparisons in standards etc....

Yes...Don't send them to Portuguese 'Driving Schools'...!!!!......Why oh why can'y Portuguese stop riding my tail at 60 MPH one metre away and then swinging out into oncoming traffic and almost killing everybody....It is widely known that Portugal is the most dangerous place to drive in Europe and has been put down to the 'Macho Man' manner of Portuguese men (And Woman !!) ......It makes my blood boil , especially when I see so many accidents .....very stupid !!!!

local wrote:why you just don´t send them to a common Portuguese school. If you decide living over here, it´s important to the kids being integrated in the Portuguese and to learn the language of the country they´re living instead of being isolated from the locals ... sorry, just my opinion
Hi Local
I hear what you are saying and fully understand the need for integration with the local community.
But………I do not wish to overburden the local schools.
The way I see it is that I will not have paid anything into your country so I would not expect your government and local tax payers to pay for my child’s education.
The same goes for health care. I will be getting private medical insurance for me and my family
I wish this was the case back in the UK, but this is one of the reasons I wish to leave here……………Too many taking out and not enough paying in or having never paid cannot be good for any countries economy!
