Swiss Referee

I'm afraid that I disagree totally and would back the referee 100% in his decision to disallow the goal.

Sol Campbell and John Terry obviously mistook Ricardo for a tree the way they were climbing all over him.

Anyhow, it pales into irrelevance because the better team won in the end and Portugal showed that they are in a different league to England.

It's high time there were more Swiss referees on the go.

Guest (the third one, no the first two) I quite agree. I was appalled that the refs web site address was shown on the itv news when viewers were encourage to write to the guy.

It appears to be forgotten that the ref has to make an instant decision and does not have access to slow motion replays which do however show that the goal keeper was obstructed. I think a lot of English see what they want to see.

It's about time football had an extra official with video replay like they do in cricket and rugby.
