Health Number

What do I need to take to the Health Centre to get a number - I'm assuming Passport and Residencia. Anything else?

i think you also need to go to the junta in carvoeiro for a estado de residencia, proof of where you live, we did anyway.

My wife had treatment there just by showing her EHIC card and paying a few euros...

My wife and I have both had to visit hospital on separate occasions (both blue light trips) and E111 cards got us excellent attention. Did have to pay less than €20 each visit but actual treatments/procedures would have cost a lot more!
