Christmas Day lunch at Ma-Ja's restaurant

Post by baronpedro »

So nice to see so many local people having a great time and eating a fabulously prepared and presented Christmas Lunch at Ma-Ja's Restaurant in Carvoeiro.
A full house with quality filled bellies is always a good sign for any chef and restaurant.
Well done to chef Mark Pomfrett, his wife Jan and waitress Lisa who all did a great job.

jjallen,
Never be put off by the price of something special.
When you are paying for a meal, especially a Christmas Day lunch, what is €15 per head if you are getting good quality food, well served and nice wine too, plus other extras included.
Glad you enjoyed the view from Onze, We wouldn't have had a chance to notice it, as we were not only enjoying the food but the surrounding company as well.
As we all know, you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Happy New Year, hope you find somewhere cheap to eat !!

In the interests of fairness regarding "personal comments", will the mods be removing the reference to finding somewhere cheap to eat? Exchanges like this, and there are plenty of them, spoil this forum.

Hi, just to make you aware that the personal comments referred to myself and my husband who were paying customers and it was at my request that these comments were removed as the post mentioned us by name on a public forum which we thought unfair. The comments were not of a hateful nature but implied that we had only gone there as a friend was working on that day - something we were not aware of until a couple of days before and she too was mentioned by name. The person who posted this wasn't even there but stated that, that is why we had left a 'glowing' report in the visitors book!!!!

A bit confused Spook not sure what you are trying to say, did you have a nice week back in the UK?

I am sorry to see ma ja's is closed at the moment, as I was thinking of trying it for myself for a sunday roast to see if its as good as you say............

I have been there before for a christmas day and found it was over priced for the food we had and as you have given it a good report I would give it a second go so watch this space for my report.

Considering I don't know who you are I think it best if this is 'put to bed' before anyone upsets the other.
