birthday dinner

arrive in cvo on thursday and its my dads birthday the day after can anyone suggest a nice restaurant for a nice meal, we were here last year but didnt eat out much, want to make a good impression for my mum and dad as its there first time in cvo, suggestions much appreciated

A Tasquina at Monte Carvoeiro would be one that I would consider. It's only been open a couple of months but the owner Marco had a restaurant by the same name in Lagoa. Check out the restaurant review section of this forum to see what people think.

In my experience you can expect good food with some stylish touches that will probably impress your father and at the end of the evening the bill is likely to be a pleasant surprise.

Relaxing environment, lots of space, easy to park outside and good with children.

if you're planning eating in town, Primavera & Villa Medici at the top of restaurant hill are nice venues for a celebration meal, and if you're out that way Julio's is nice to sit outside of at the entrance to Vale do Milho

It's outside the complex though, the old Phoenix nights premises, so you can't see the fountain from it, but Cocktail Garden is only a few yards away through the entrance for 'afters'.

Never had a poor meal in O Salmao, but usually busy, (can't see the fountain from it either as it's low down.

Last year they had music in Monte Carvoeiro most evenings.

If you want a really nice place to go to i would highly recommend "La Bell Vita" at Clube Atlantico which is approx a ten minute drive or taxi ride from Carvoeiro. The place is very nice&ask for a table overlooking the pool&the food is superb.

If you want to venture a bit further, then O Baridas on the way to Silves.....otherwise, I'd endorse Tasquina.
