Ryanair Duty Free airport purchases

At some airports Ryanair offer a concession in terms of a second piece of hand baggage to those who buy goods at the airport - Bournemouth being one.

I would like to to buy a laptop in Dixons at T3 in Manchester as its £380 cheaper than in the Apple Shop or elsewhere - would Ryanair insist on it being put in my hand luggage or could I carry it separately making 2 pieces of hand baggage

I was at the Ryanair desk yesterday at Manchester Airport and it now has a sign that you can take a bag with duty free purchased from the airport as well as your hand baggage.
Funnily enough my husband was going to buy at Ipad from there as its cheaper, as you rightly say but they didn't have any in stock. Might be worth checking before.

I have been told that Faro is one of those airport where Ryanair allow airport purchases along with the usual 1 bag. Not advertised but apparantly part of the deal the airport negotiated with Ryanair whey they set up base in Faro. Can see where the airport authorites are coming from as I suspect that Ryanair are paying feck all for the use of the airport.

On a similar note: We fly off to Turkey 11 May from Manchester T1 with Jet2. Are we allowed to take on a second bag of duty free? I have trawled the web but been unable to get a definitive answer.

Joey - I'm not too sure this is the case. I travel once a week from Faro (mainly with Ryanair) and see the gate staff insisting that only one bag is allowed in the cabin, including bags with large quantities of tobacco (bought at the airport). They become 'little hitlers'

I went with Ryanair from Manchester last week and you could defininately take a duty free bag including your hand luggage.
They even have signs telling you at the check in desk now. However I didn't notice many people with duty free bags on the way back from Faro and they were ruthless with sizes as usual.
Michael, Just asked at J2 desk and its the same with them, so you will be able to buy as much Vodka as you want

Yep they do this at a few airports now even though RA dont tell you that you can!

unfortunately cannot verity if it is true.

2 weeks ago the boarding staff of an Easyjet flight to Belfast (upstairs before the gate) let everyone through to the lounge, THEN announced that it was one bag per passenger, watched as some passengers put bags into bags then just opened the gate and let everyone through, without even a glance at bags.
