I have just seen a report that the EU wants to enforce new lower " roaming charges " on the mobile networks.
Making a call to the UK would fall by almost 50% as from July 1st with further reductions over the next 3 years.
Similar reductions will apply to call receiving and mobile internet access.
The new regulations have to be confirmed by the full European parliament but for those of us who are working when in Portugal this is great news and for once proof that the EU does do some good.

BTW, I’ve just renamed my Iphone ‘’The Titanic’’ so, when I connect to Itunes, it says – wait for it – Syncing the Titanic.
