I love CVO
I love CVO
Hi Guys,
Just got back from CVO - what a great time we had.
Stayed at a villa that we have not been to before - a little bit out of town near the Tennis Club - but what a fab villa.
Not been to CVO for 2-3 years, and boy have we missed it - from the Restaurants, to the Beach, to the Bars - everything about it - we just love the place.
Had great meals at A Gale & O'AlGar, had great times having beers in the square (also Smilers, Hemmingways, Black Stove, Bradys & Carvoeiro Bar!!!!!!!!!! oops!!), fab times on the beach & in the sea, even had a sing song in the Round Up, & even managed to read a book sat around the pool!!!! - What an absolutely fantastic holiday.
Cant wait to get back, & hope the place never changes.
Just one point - we did notice that it was a lot quieter than it has been before (albeit we havn't been for a while) - is that general, or did we just pick a quiet week?
Anyway - not bothered how busy or quiet it is - just love the place, & sat here now in rainsoaked bloody Manchester thinking about the Sun, the Beach, the Pool & of course Superbock!!!!

Hi Lotte
Bloody hell. We must have been in a bar or restaurant at the same time. I returned to rain swept Manchester last Saturday and I also frequented all the places you listed. I also concur, CVO is brilliant. Already planning 2012 and even contemplating going for a few days over New Year. Don't leave it so long next time

Hi Lamby,
Got back to this lovely green island late on Sunday Night - oh deep joy!!!!
Need to be back by the sea!!!!!
Can't agree with you more about CVO - what a place!
We ended up watching the game in Brady's Bar - for what it was worth!!! - Never mind, we're still the best team in England & the 2nd best team in Europe - it could be worse - we could be bluenoses!!!!
With regard to your proposed trip at New Year, I have spent 2 New Years in CVO (3 & 4 years ago) - we had a great time, although not all the bars & restaurants were open. Had a ball on New Years Eve in Hemmingways, Sullys, Carvoeiro Bar & Mungo's + Fireworks on the beach at midnight, and we still spent most of the week & New Years Day on the beach sunbathing though - so it wasnt that bad!!!!
We did have a chat last week with one of the staff from Martins Grille (whilst we were sat there sampling a few beers!!!!), who told us that for the 1st year ever, all the bars in the square are closing this New Year - I dont know how true that is though, it was only one of the waiters who told us - it maybe worthwhile asking the question if you are thinking of going at New Year.
Anyway, as you say - we must have been in the same bar at some point - wish I could be there now!!! - I would gladly buy you a beer or two!!!
I need to get arranging our next trip, but not too sure if we are gonna be able to make it again this year - Sadly!!! - but i'm damn sure i'll do everything possible to try & get there!!! - cant wait for 12 months!!!!

Re: I love CVO
Thanks Lotte. I will research, probably via this forum, before we book. I have already looked at flights. Instead of the usual villa holiday I am considering a hotel for New Year. As I say, I will make a few checks prior to booking. Thanks again

Re: I love CVO
Hi Phil,
Your'e right, there is definately a Tesco in Manchester (far too many!!!!) - but there certainly isnt a 'Black Stove'! - well not the one i'm talking about!!!
Could do with a beer in there right now!!!
This will come as a bit of a shock to you, but its just about to start raining (again) in Manchester - that will probably last for about 5 days!!!! Dont you just love it here - No Sun, No Sea, No Sand, & No Superbock (Draft that is!!!!) - & to cap it all off - No bloomin Football - its gonna be a tough couple of months!!!
I think i need to start thinking about booking our next trip to CVO!!!!!
