A hairdresser for the ladies...

Post by aran01 »

Hi folks,
Getting married in a few weeks in Carvoerio and herself is looking for the latest on the hairdressers out there. I search the forum but the info is very 2009.
Anybody have any updates on a good pref English speaking hairdresser who can do callouts?
A makeup / nails preson would be a bonus :-)
Kind regards in advance,
Aran01

Congratulations aran01.
Victor Picardo is a very good hairdressers, the Algarve's equivalent to Toni & Guy, they have a salon in the middle of Rua do Farol (restaurant hill). I think if you are coming up the hill from the square it is in the parade of shops on the right hand side before you get to the road that takes you to the municipal market on the left. They also have a salon in Lagoa opposite the Fatacil on the upper level. I know that the Salon in Lagoa definitely has a lady that does nails.

Yvonne, Director of Styling from Victor Picardo in CVO has done my hair for the past 6 years on and off. I say on and off as we visit approx 3-4 times ayear so depending on the length and need to have done really. Anyway you are paying a bit more than normal but well worth it, call in and discuss what you need, I'm sure they will be of help.

My wife would suggest you try "chanteles" on the Presa de Moura complex Sesmarias. This was formerly a Victor Picardo salon but is now run by chantel who has completely revamped it,easy parking and you may want to try a coffee as it is right next door to the Island Cafe, hope this helps.

Lucas at Vitor Picardo in Lagoa. He did my hair for the 10 years that I lived there.
