Oh dear....passport problem

Post by vezzer83 »

Hey FolksI

We are coming over to CVO week on tuesday (13th til 20th) and we all can't wait. Although i really hope the sun makes an appearance.

Quick question.......my passport runs out on the 10th June....is this sufficient time left on my passport to get in and out of portugal

Please say it is??

Any quick assistance would be much appreciated

Hi Vezzer83,

You will be OK providing your passport is valid for the duration of your stay:

Visas

As an EU national, you may remain in Portugal as a tourist for a period not exceeding three months. If you intend to settle, you must apply for a Registration Certificate from the local Camara Municipal (Town Hall) or from the nearest office of the Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (Portuguese immigration authority).

Passport Validity

You need a valid British passport or a National Identity Card (see the website of the Identity and Passports Service (IPS)) for entry to and exit from Portugal. There is no minimum passport validity requirement but you should ensure that your passport is valid for the proposed period of your stay.

See UK Gov site: http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-liv ... e/portugal

Hampshire Rich

Thanks for the information, thats great. I can rest easy in the knowledge that I don't need to venture over to Glasgow to renew it in the next week.

Thanks again, much appreciated
