For Ellie: Cafe in Square in Lagoa
For Ellie: Cafe in Square in Lagoa
Its still there Ellie, but not as you know it. Its an orange and glass cube shaped building.
still in the same place but with none of the charm of the previous cafe. They have also cleaned up the gardens as well which is an improvement.
Carvoeiro square is a bit odd, lots of open spaces but no benches or points of interest. (no the bears didn't do it for me)
its all a bit bear (!) and its easy to get run over by the cars circumnavigating the road.
The wider pavements of the in and out roads, are however, a joy, although as many have mentioned, a lot of the silver bollards have been damaged.
Parking as expected is a nightmare.
still its a lovely place, the weather is hot, so who's complaining?

Re: For Ellie: Cafe in Square in Lagoa
I love the bears! (hate the square)
I'm trying to work out how to get one into the back of my car without anyone noticing. Perhaps if I could borrow an open pick-up truck I could push one of the ones off the roof of the awful new tourist office (the office looks like a pre-fab public loo, not nice). I think it would look brilliant in my garden, the bear that is not the office.

I agree I think the tourist office is awful, completely out of character for our
beautiful village, what an eyesore.

Thanks for the info on Lagoa park cafe Tricks mate...but not sure if Im gonna like it. Like you say doesn't sound as though it has the charm of the old cafe?
Im wondering if Sonia still works there...I made good friends with her in the past but not having been out since 2007, not sure if she is still there.
I love sitting in that park and watching the world go by
