Cheapo voltmeter

I need to buy a cheapo voltmeter to look at a faulty light in the apartment. Does anyone know where I can get one from ???

Out there this evening so a quick reply would be appreciated.

When I was there a couple of weeks ago Izis had alot of stuff like that on offer.
Teach my grandma to suck eggs, but you could just switch off the power at the breaker, and examine the light. Even with an avo or multimeter, you need to know what you are doing if you are working on live mains.
If you work with power off, you can check it out with a cheap continuity tester.....ie a buzzer.

Im no fool it will be my mate that takes the risks Ive tried the basics like trying a new bulb but after that my enthusiasm ran out much to Gaynors chagrin

I suggest that you buy an electrical tester screwdriver. The presence or absence of the light in the handle when you touch the power wires will tell you whether or not you have current and there is not much risk of doing yourself any injury.
