Carvoeiro's twin town

Are there any other villages in the Algarve, Europe or anywhere in the world that you would compare with Cvo? Has to be warm!

We love Cvo. has everything we need all in one place, fantastic people, good nightlife without wall to wall nightclubs etc. but would love to give the kids a new experience without it being a disaster!
Would really appreciate some ideas - sure there are plenty of you who have found Cvo. elsewhere, especially in Europe? (can't be long haul for us just yet)

Have been to Skeggie - not my cup of tea - prefer Mablethorpe and still have the scar on my knee to prove it when I fell on those steps as a youngster. Many happy memories of Lincolnshire when we lived there.

Funniest memory of Mablethorpe- sat in Cafe having lovely fish and chip meal when an old person lost control of their motorised wheelchair, hit the accelerator and those things can move- could have been carnage but no fatalities thank goodness

We absolutely love Carvoeiro and it is one of only two places in the world that we visit over and over again so I am saying that my other suggestion would be Sivota on the greek mainland near Parga which is the other place!! It has a picture perfect harbour with a promenade full of restaurants and bars but no throbbing nightclubs. Every night a flotilla of yachts will come in and luxurious motor cruisers full of beautiful people that you can just look at!!

You will find it in the Kosmar brochure and the place to stay would be the Panorama, the views are gorgeous and it is very reasonably priced. The flight time is around 3 - 3.5 hours, the transfer takes a little over an hour and you don't want to go home!!

Anyway can give you masses and masses of more information about the place, the people, hiring little motorboats and having beaches to yourself, etc, etc, just let me know if you are interested.

Plus the promenade in front of the bars and restaurants is pedestrianised, you simply buy your children a crab line for 1 euro and then sit in a bar or restaurant all night whilst they fish with a dozen or so new friends. Heaven

Blimey--youve got to be joking Guest! Skegness! Thats my local "seaside"--Warm Well it is with your woollies on!
Dynamic ? The only activity Ive spotted there is the movement of fingers to mouth of greasy fish& chip accompanied by the essential mushy peas!
Bracing Yeah -well it would be --as the icy winds blow across the North sea--straight from the Urals
For guarranteed "warmth" and not too far to travel I suppose its got to be the Med---how about South of France--nice little place called "Cagnes sur Mer"----near to Nice and St Tropez--used to take kids there when young.
Or "Cap Hornu" -- a nice little bay near St Valery-sur-Somme,not s of France but Picardie--nice little town -plenty of shops cafes,bars and quite sheltered so usually warm and not so far to travel.

Or, of course, you could come to Texas (we have most anything here)...and the Natives speak English (kinda).

Not the same at all as Cvo visually but very similar in ambience to it I think is Mojacar on the Costa Almeria in South Eastern Spain.

Try - Tenby, Pembrokeshire. (But I'm biased). Excellent beaches (4), beautiful scenery, golf, leisure parks, quad bikes etc. boat trips, plenty of pubs + restaurants. Easy access from M4 AND the natives are v. friendly.

Can get v. busy in July / August.

Has the reputation as being The Jewel in the Crown!
