A couple of nights

Post by matmat »

Has anyone got availability for the nights of 20th and 21st August. To sleep 4 or 5. Our normal Apt isn't available untill the 22nd but we can get away a couple of days before.
Kind regards
Matt

I doubt anybody will offer you a part week in high season....have you considered Solferias apart hotel. Not the nicest place in the world but it is nt bad and it's reasonably cheap.

Stayed @ Solferias a few years ago and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. :( Have a look at Trip advisor for some reviews.

They keep promising to do a complete refurb, but we passed there in July and little appears to have changed!

Long trek up 'Cardiac Hill' from the centre of CVO - not recommended after a few glasses of Sagres!

Wouldn't Carvoeiro Sol in the square be better?

A couple of years ago we were in a similar situation but at the end of the holiday. We ended up having one night at the motel on the N125 just outside of Lagoa toward Albufeira - same side as the Fire Station. I won't pretend it would give the Ritz too much of a run for it's money but it was clean and inexpensive, and had great gardens and a nice pool. It was in fact a last resort for us as none of the hotels in the town were willing to do just one night in high season (which is fair enough).
I'm sorry to say I can't remember the name of the place but I think it was something like Parque Internationale. Anyway, it was run by a French chap. I remember asking him to have a drink on me when I bought a round at the little bar there - he thanked me and said his wife would have one as well! That'll teach me.

Easy peasy this one, surprised no one has mentioned it before but there are some very nice guest houses in the area and this one I can personally recommend as it's down the road to our place and a good friend of mine stayed there earlier this year and is itching to go back. Casa Mariposa it's only 3 mins from the top of restaurant hill and has tennis courts and a large pool.

Casa Mariposer is opposite the entrance to what was Bubbles bar on Rua Dos Moinhos. It's about a 3 min walk to A Rede at the top of restaraunt hill.

I always see a little guest house at the top of the left hand hill in the square, past the GNR, it looks really pretty and the views must be amazing. Maybe someone knows the name?

The link you posted was for a place in Mexico! Sorry, I thought it was a joke.

Why not stay at O'Castello for a couple of nights, fab views, lovely location and extremely nice owners, we both highly recommend it.

Just in case it might prove useful to anyone, or they fancy buying the French bloke and his wife a drink, the business card for the motel I mentioned has surfaced in a post Christmas clear out.
It was the Motel Parque Algarvio and the phone numbers I have are 282 342 265 and 282 352 296.

Ah! Sorry Mat Mat. I bumped this topic because I thought it might assist in the query you just posted. Then I noticed you started this topic anyway! Middle age and the shedding of brain cells are a terrible thing
