Think we should all stop blamming sully's

Sully's bar, is the same bar its been for however long its been standing, yes they have changed over owners..

The business is doing well, it is obvioulsy attracting alot of people, (Doesn't matter what age group) but has been noted that their are a lot of younger people going.

Fights ect: Everywhere you go where their is a lot of people, and alchol involved you are bound to get a fight or an argument, this is no faught to sully's its just the people that go their. You get fights in most places, so sully's shouldnt be singled out.

As for the drugs: Well yes that is a problem, allthough personally i have never heard of the problem before i read it on here. Obviously the owners are not aware, as if they were im sure they would do something about it, cause their is always police patrolling around the square in the cars about 3-4am. And they arn't gonna risk their licence being taken off them.

This is my personal opinion, but i just think people are saying how sully's has gone down hill, well in fact it hasnt for them they are making a huge success.. If the people that go in their can't respect themselves and everyone else around them, then its in no faught of the bar, its just the people themselves.. But yes, they are ruining the enjoyment for everyone else. As sully's probably used to be a regular for most, and now people are getting to intimidated to evan go in, with the amount of people swarmed outside. which is a shame, but can't blame them for being SUCCESSFUL.

I have to agree with you Sam, there has always been a bar that was the ‘’in’’ place for youngsters, the LSD, ZICO’s etc, now its Sully’s turn. Drugs are certainly nothing new in Carvoeiro and neither is young people getting drunk. The thing that is upsetting some people is that they used to frequent Sully’s and this was part of their holiday as it was one of their favourite bars, now they either feel intimidated or dare I say it, too old to patronise it (in fact it was the first bar I went into in Carvoeiro all those years ago, so it has a special meaning to me), but things have moved on and we just have to accept it. I for one do not have a problem with that (they don’t sell draught Guinness anyway) as someone else pointed out if you don’t like it, go somewhere else, there are certainly plenty of bars to choose from. Good luck to Sully’s I say.

I've frequented Sully's for eighteen years and never experienced any problems, has it changed, or don't I go in at the right time? I've never witnessed any agro in Cvo in all those years.

Philipe from Sullys was arrested the other morning because you wouldnt close the bar & turn down the music at 04.30 after being orded to by the GNR. Saying its my bar ( No its Ivons shes the one who made the investment) and I ll do what I want.
Hope they close him down, everone else go´s by the rules. The Idiot.

What is happening to Sullys - why do they need to play extremely loud music at 4.30??? We were over in May and only went in there once - did not like the atmosphere whereas we would normally go in a few times to see Maria and the locals who frequented the place. Saw some of the locals in Bar Telvez so maybe they do not like Sullys now either.

Shame in such a prime location too - back in 8 weeks so will have to see whats going on there then - if it is still open!!!

Philipe needs to take a few deep breaths. Whatever peoples opinions on the matter (and I have voiced mine) he certainly doesn't want to get on the backs of the GNR. Unlike the UK or Ireland I get the feeling that being a member of Law enforcement is a symbol of "status" in Portugal and they tend to have fairly big ego's. Standing there in the square with the polished boots and baton at the ready I get the feeling that you would be better served to get them on board rather than have them as an enemy. They won't give him a minutes rest if he keeps that attitude up. I will watch this whole episode play out with great interest over the coming months. With Big Brother ratings plummeting I think we should send the production company down to cover the story.

Me myself I love watching the GNR in their shiny boots, tight trousers, baton in hand, but only the couple I think that are pretty cute.

Ive always got on well with the GNR boys...always exchanged a Bom dia or whatever time of day,when living there & on hols....and some nice smiles too
